The title of the White Paper, Galactic Guide to Innovation: IoT, Industry 4.0, Servitization, and Beyond, is a nod to the famous book The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy by British author Douglas Adams, which is renowned for its critical approach to reasoning and building a comprehensive understanding. Similarly, this White Paper aims to provide a pragmatic perspective on the crucial goals and steps of an enterprise’s digital transition: how to connect even the most analog factory machinery, what the initial steps are, and what benefits can be gained, and how to best use the collected data, including creating new business models through servitization.
Recognizing that technological innovation is essential for ecological transition, the Guide provides a thorough examination of solutions for optimizing company resources while conserving energy and raw materials.
